Formé à l'École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, Jean Lamoureux a complété sa formation artistique avec les sculpteurs Jacques de Tonnancour, Bartolini et Sylvia Daoust. Il a également obtenu un diplôme en art publicitaire ainsi qu'un brevet spécialisé en arts plastiques. Depuis 1981, Jean Lamoureux a participé à de nombreuses expositions, individuelles et collectives. Ses œuvres font partie de collections privées et d'entreprises au Canada et à l'étranger. Influencé par les impressionnistes, il a exposé au Québec, au Canada, aux États-Unis, en France et au Japon.
